NDC Not Interested In Disbanding Vigilante Groups – John Boadu

The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has stated that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is not interested in disbanding vigilante groups in their party.

According to him, the NPP as a party does not gain anything from vigilantism but rather interested in the peace of every Ghanaian; thus, it is the reason why they have tried every possible means to meet with them to solve the issue of vigilantism once and for all.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he stated that "if they are really interested in disbanding vigilantism they wouldn’t have been writing to the Jubilee House instead of redirecting their question to the NPP Headquarters".

He added that if NDC have any concern regarding the disbandment of Vigilantism he believed the best place to redirect their issues for deliberation is to them (NPP) and not to the presidency.

“Jubilee House and NPP’s headquarters which one is far . . . stop writing to the Jubilee House to come and face us,” he said.

He therefore said that the NPP as a party supports the decision of the president to set up a legislation to serve as a deterrence to others.
