Dep Chief Of Staff Touts Ghana's Credentials In SA

The Government of Ghana has procured over 200 ambulances to boost the health sector of the economy.

Deputy Chief of Staff, Francis Asenso-Boakye made this revelation at the 3rd South Africa-Ghana Awards on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Pretoria, South Africa.

The ambulances are said to have been distributed to each constituency in the country to provide timely medical services and also convey patients to hospitals.

"The NHIA, which was saddled with crippling debts only a few years ago, has seen significant injection of capital and adopted innovative approaches to its services. Government has also procured almost 280 ambulances, one for each constituency and continues to equip our hospitals with the necessary tools and diagnostics," he touted.

Addressing a gathering at the event, the Deputy Chief of Staff further touted some developmental achievements of the Akufo-Addo citing projects like the free Senior High School (SHS) policy, the 1 District 1 Factory, the introduction of NABCO to create employment across the nation and many more that the government is doing to ensure the economy sees a major improvement at all sectors.

". . the President has embarked on an aggressive development agenda with a vision of a Ghana beyond aid. Implementation of the Free SHS, introduction of NABCO, interventions such as the National Entrepreneurial and Innovation Programme are all part of a comprehensive effort at improving the human resource capital needed to transform our country. Government initiatives such as, one district one factory, one village one dam and planting for food and jobs are designed purposely to boost our production capacity to accelerate the industrialization of our economy and stimulate economic growth," he stated.

Mr. Asenso-Boakye pledged the commitment of President Nana Akufo-Addo to alleviate the economic hardships the government inherited from the erstwhile Mahama government and also provide relief to the Ghanaian populace.

"Building a strong and resilient healthcare system that provides affordable, accessible and timely services to all remains a cardinal priority of the government...there is more that we can say about the concrete and valiant efforts that government is making to accelerate our development, create sustainable jobs and digitize our economy".
