The Presbyterian Church of Ghana Consoles The People of La On The Death of La Mantse

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has expressed its condolences to the people of La in Accra, following the call to eternity of Nii Kpobi Tettey Tsuru III, the La Mantse.

A high powered delegation of the Church led by the Moderator of the General Assembly, the Rt. Rev Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante and the Clerk of General Assembly, Rev Dr Samuel Ayete-Nyampong visited the immediate family of the late La Mantse on Tuesday to console them.

The delegation was received by Mr Okpoti Okecheri on behalf of Prof. Ablade Glover, head of the Kpobi We family.

Other members of the delegation were the Rev Nii Teiko Dagadu, District Minister for Osu, Rev Dr William Korle Quaye, District Minister for Haasto and Rev Emmanuel Djieagu, La District Minister.

The rest of the delegation are Rev Prof. David Nii Kpobi, Lecturer, Trinity Theological Seminary Accra, Rev Ebenezer Nii Armah Ashitey, Director of Ecumenical and Social Relations at the Head Office of the Church,  Mr Okoe Niikoi Dzani and Rev George Larbi, Public Relations Officer of the Church.

The late Nii Kpobi Tettey Tsuru III passed away in January this year at age 90 30 years of rule.

The Moderator in a short statement called on the people of La and the immediate family to remain firm and calm in the Lord in spite if the loss.

“We can only take solace in the fact that by his great deeds to humanity, he is resting in the bosom of the Lord,” he stated.

 The Moderator said the late La Mantse intentionally took steps to let the world know that he was a Christian.

“Don’t let us weep because he has served the Lord and therefore going to his Maker peacefully”. The Moderator later prayed for the family

The late La Mantse was a staunch Presbyterian who served on the Committee on Church and Society of the Church.
