Accident Cases Should Be Criminalized – Kokofu Sides With Rawlings

Former Bantama constituency Member of Parliament [MP], Lawyer Henry Kwabena Kokofu has said he is beginning to accept the idea of categorizing accidents as criminal cases after analyzing circumstances that lead to most of such occurrences on our roads.

“It is unfortunate that some instances due to human failure lead to accidents causing lots of people to lose their lives which could have been prevented,” he said.

In an interview with UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ programme, Henry Kokofu said some years ago he was against a decision by former President Jerry John Rawlings that accident cases be treated as criminal, but now sides with him.

Collapsed Pylon Complete Sabotage

Discussing the activities of thieves as claimed by the Energy Minister, Peter Amewu leading to the collapse of a greater sourced high-tension tower that has affected power supply to Tema, Kumasi and some parts of Accra, Henry Kokofu said he perfectly sides with the Energy Minister that it is a complete sabotage against the government of the day.

“This must serve as a warning to the government in power to be on its guard as the largest opposition party has already signalled that they will make sure governance becomes so hard for them to manage,” he stressed.

According to him he feels uneasy to keep quiet when some citizens of this country become happy when negative occurrences happen to the state, all in the name of politics to paint somebody black.

“Where lies our patriotic lifestyle as citizens,” he asked.
