Dr. Afari-Gyan Is a ‘Joke’ . . .He Is 'No Saint' – Obiri Boahen
Deputy General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party [NPP] Nana Obiri Boahen has described former Chairman of the Electoral Commission [EC], Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan as a 'joker' for some comment he made about politicians and their activities with the Electoral Commission.
Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan has observed that “with time the lies being peddled about the Electoral Commission [EC] by various political parties will be exposed.”
The EC, according to Dr Afari-Gyan, is always at the centre of accusations of rigging elections in favour of one political party or the other by these politicians as an excuse for their inability to win the polls as promised their financiers.
“Only time can solve this problem . . . time and voter education. So with time and as the Ghanaian electorate become more and more sophisticated, the lies that politicians tell will not hold,” he stated.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, Nana Obiri Boahen who was unhappy with Afari-Gyan’s comment said “so what is he talking about. He should give us a break. He is not an honest man.”
