Richard Acheampong, NDC MP for Bia East Constituency in the Western Region says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has nothing against Madam Jean Mensa ‘as a person’.

The NDC has been like an albatross around the EC boss’ neck from her IEA days till she was named as the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC).

However, the Bia East MP says they have nothing against her.

“The EC should not see this as the NDC attacking them, all we are saying is that the majority of the people should be able to write their names. We are not against Jean Mensa as a person. We are not opposing for opposing sake . . . You cannot say you want to save cost; you cannot disenfranchise someone all because you want to save cost. The EC needs to understand for things to go on smoothly,” he indicated while speaking on ‘Kokrokoo’, Peace FM's morning show programme, Wednesday.
