Nana B Condemns Attack On Krachi West DCE; Says NPP Bigger Than Any Single Individual
The National Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye aka Nana B has condemned the attacked on the Krachi West District Chief Executive Officer (DCE), Douglas Osei Nti.
According to the charismatic Youth Organizer, NPP as a party is bigger than any single individual and that under no circumstance that the youth of the party will be allowed to take the laws into their hands and do as they wish.
Reports indicate that some agitated youth group calling itself “Concerned NPP Youth of Krachi” on Tuesday 28th May, 2019, forcefully dragged the DCE for the Krachi West District out of his office and locked him out.
The youth say the DCE, Mr. Osei-Nti Douglas, since his appointment has done very little to sustain a lot of the NPP in the district which is located in the newly-created Oti Region.
But Nana Boakye reacting on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, stated emphatically that “under no circumstance that anybody should take the laws of this country into his or her hand and does as pleases them”.
Nana Boakye explained that the NPP as a party has structures and guided by rules and regulations, advising party members to channel all their grievances through the appropriate quarters rather than resorting to violence.
“Nobody has any right to dragged the DCE out of his office . . . if you are not satisfied with his work just petition the president or party executives for the issue to be solved rather than taking the law into their own hands . . . their actions were wrong, very disgraceful, despicable and unacceptable by the party . . . the party is bigger than any single individual…,” he stressed.
“The President has already made his stance clear on the issue of vigilantism and violence and if you go contrary to the decision of the president you don’t just disobey his order but rather disrespecting his authority and we will not tolerate that,” he reiterated.
He however called on the Police to arrest persons who carried out this ‘despicable’ act; insisting that failure to set precedence to put an end to this behaviour of the youth, they might think it is the right path to follow to seek redress.
“They should be arrested . . . because if we don’t set precedence they may think it is right . . . I condemn it with every impunity it deserves,” he said.
