"We Will Continue Boycott Until AG Discontinues Darkwa's Trial" :Minority

The Minority in Parliament says they are yet to decide whether or not it will return to Parliament following their boycott of the house on Friday, February 19. The Minority insists until the Attorney-General drops charges against New Patriotic Party (NPP) activist Nana Darkwa Baafi, it will continue with the boycott. The Minority's action is in solidarity with Nana Darkwa, the NPP activist who was incarcerated for passing unsubstantiated comments which imputed ill motive to former President Rawlings on an Accra-based radio station, Top Radio. Nana Darkwa was granted bail in the sum of GH 400 plus one surety by an Accra High Court on Friday after his lawyer Kwame Akufo filed an application at the court seeking bail for his client. But despite his release, Minority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, says though the bailing of Nana Darkwa is a positive sign the minority will not rescind on its decision until the Attorney-General drops charges against the NPP activist. Admittedly it is a positive sign that something has been donebut we would continue to monitor developments between now and Tuesday and if we are satisfied we will review our position and see what action to take come Tuesday next week, He said.
