Veterans Get Massive Resources

The Veterans Administration Ghana (VAG) has received massive infrastructure and logistical boost following the partnership agreement it signed with the National Lottery Authority (NLA).

They have been supplied with vehicles and other infrastructure including the refurbishment of their head office in Accra and the ongoing construction of a sports complex by the NLA – all geared towards the well-being of veterans.

A statement from the Public Relations Unit of the NLA said “the historic collaborative agreement signed between the National Lottery Authority and Veterans Administration, Ghana has started producing positive results towards the socioeconomic development and financial empowerment of the veterans.”

According to the statement, the NLA-VAG partnership has given NLA the sole power to manage, regulate and supervise VAG lottery and any activity of VAG as far as lottery is concerned. As part of the agreement package, the NLA has assisted the veterans to refurbish their head office in Accra.

It said they had acquired brand new vehicles for the effective management of the VAG Secretariat and is also supporting the building of a top class sports stadium complex in Tamale for the veterans and serving soldiers.

“The VAG Lotto is expected to start operations hopefully from month of August 2019 immediately after the official launch to contribute meaningfully to the overall well-being of veterans, create jobs and generate revenue for the socioeconomic development of Ghana,” the statement said.

It also said that “the successful rollout of the VAG Lotto would enable the government through the NLA to support the veterans in the areas of the provision of quality healthcare delivery and decent accommodation for veterans and soldiers across Ghana.”
