We Never Said We'll Abolish Free SHS – Okletey Tei-Larbi

Member of Parliament [MP] for Lower Manya Constituency in the Eastern Region, Ebenezer Okletey Tei-Larbi has refuted claims by members of the NPP especially its communicators that the free Senior High School [SHS] policy will be abolished should NDC regain power in the 2020 elections.

According to him, “what the National Democratic Congress [NDC] means by reviewing the free S.H.S policy is to expand the infrastructure problems facing the policy and as well abolish the double track system completely”.

“NDC cannot put away a policy it started progressively. The project has a beautiful future just that some actions of it needs to be amended,” he further stated.

However, Kingsley Carlos Ahenkorah, MP for Tema West Constituency also on the same platform insisted there is no way members of the NDC will handle and implement the free SHS policy when they have refused to understand the whole system, just as they boycotted the four [4] year SHS system introduced under former President John Agyekum Kuffour.

“Members of the NDC don’t have the gift interpretation to review our free SHS system. In fact they don’t have the divine capacity to explain our dreams; they will destroy it because they don’t understand the whole system,” Carlos Ahenkorah said.

Speaking on UTV’s Adekye Nsroma political programme, the Tema West Constituency MP advised citizens to make sure they keep the NPP in power if they are happy and want the free SHS policy to continue.
