Three drivers sustained injuries at Denyame, a suburb of Kumasi after they were involved in an accident on Thursday. According to the Ashanti Regional Motto Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) Commander, ASP Abraham Bansah, the two vehicles, Mitsubishi Pick-up with registration number GE 2869-09 and Nissan Pick-up numbered AS 743 Z belong to telecommunication giant, Vodafone and Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) respectively. The Kia truck with registration number AS 4734-09, which is owned by a private individual, was involved in a near collision that occurred at the Denyame, a suburb of Kumasi. When Daily Guide visited the scene at about 9:00am, there was a massive vehicular traffic on the Denyame road that leads to Adum, the central business district of the metropolis. The driver of the Kia truck was said to have sustained severe injuries and had been rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for prompt medical attention. An eyewitness, Clifford Abban of TV3, who was driving on the road when the accident occurred, said it was miraculous that no one died in the incident considering the impact of the crash. �The KMA car, which was from Adum and heading towards Santase roundabout, stopped at a junction to allow the Vodafone car, which was from the other road, but from no where the Kia truck hit the KMA vehicle from the back and since the impact was so strong the KMA car in turn bumped into the Vodafone car, which was halfway on the main road,� he added. ASP Bansah said he and a team of police officers rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call from residents. He revealed that the Kia truck driver, whose injuries were very severe, was on admission at KATH, stressing that he was responding to treatment. The MTTU Commander said investigations were currently under way, insisting that �those found culpable would be made to face the law.�
