Director-General of the Police Public Affairs, ACP David Senanu Eklu has commended the public and the media for helping to arrest the prime suspect, Eric Kojo Duah in the killing of the two police officers at Kasoa in the Central Region.

According to him, the arrest of Eric Kojo Duah on the Adome Bridge last Saturday makes the number 7 of the suspects who have been arrested in connection with the killing of the two police officers.

Clearing the doubt of apprehending the wrong suspect in the killing of the two police officers, ACP David Eklu on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show said that the identity of the prime suspect is unquestionable as the picture displayed in the public is the same as the person who was arrested at Adome Bridge.

“For now, we are very sure he is the one we are looking for. We put his picture out in the public and we put a price tag of Ghs 10, 000 on his head . . . ” he assured.

He added that the arrest of Eric Kojo Duah last Saturday was a combined effort between the public and different units of the Ghana Police Service when he [prime suspect] was purportedly heading towards the Volta Region.

“ . . he can go beyond the Volta Region to other parts of the country but we are not very sure where he was going to. He is now in the lawful custody and he adds up to the 7th suspect we have arrested in connection with the killing of the police officers,” he indicated.

He said the Ghana Police Service is in touch with the families of the officers who were killed as one of them was buried last Friday in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of which the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia attended.

Meanwhile, the main suspect, Eric Kojo Duah and six other suspects have been remanded in custody by the Kaneshie Magistrate Court. They are to be kept in the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).

They were charged with a number of counts including; murder, conspiracy to commit murder and abetment of crime.

The presideing judge remanded three of them into BNI custody while the remaining four are to be kept in police custody.
