K’dua Police Brutality: Victim’s Father Admits Son Was ‘Guilty’, But . . .

Father of the 28-year-old young man assaulted by two policemen at Koforidua Railway Police Station in the Eastern region says his son faulted but could have been pardoned.

Mr Daniel Alegbe who was speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ said the police rough treatment on his son was “heartless” after describing the two officers as “hard-hearted”.

“My son is in pains, real pains. My son told me he had severe beatings off camera before the one captured on camera,” he told host Mac Jerry Osei Agyeman.

Mr Daniel Alegbe also denied appealing to the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh to tamper justice with mercy and recall the two officers - General Sergeant Patrick Amoako and General Lance Corporal Isaac Marfo.

“Who am I to say that when the police has already decided?” he questioned.
