'Easily Swayed' Ghana AIDS Commission Support For CSE Alarming - Foh-Amoaning

Law Lecturer and fierce critic of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT), Moses Foh-Amoaning is baffled by the support the Ghana AIDS Commission is giving to the advent of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education in the Ghana Education Service curriculum.

According to him, it is alarming that the Ghana AIDS Commission is rather supporting the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) which will promote HIV/AIDS as statistics show that out of 10 HIV/AIDS cases in Ghana, 9 of them come through the activities of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT).

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' morning show, the leader of National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Right and Family Values asserted that the support given by Ghana AIDS Commission means that the LGBT movement has influenced the AIDS Commissions around the world.

“The strategy we have taken is that wherever the LGBT movement appears, be it in our education and in our health, we will fish them out, because there are health implications associated with homosexuality. When it comes to HIV/AIDS, out of 10 cases in Ghana, 9 of them come through the LGBT activities; that is the statistics. Ask yourself that when the CSE issue came up, Ghana AIDS Commission is supporting it instead of rather try to stop the LGBT activities which will promote HIV/AIDS. This means they have an influence on the AIDS Commission around the world,” he asserted.

To him, even though the government has suspended the implementation of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in the country’s education system, his coalition is still in the discussion as there is a community-based approach aspect to it which is being run by the Plan Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG).

He claimed that the copy of the 400-page guidelines for the PPAG which Joy FM had, has come under serious threat, making it unable to copy the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Right and Family Values to review.

“They (LGBT) know their secret is naked before the public and that document contains detailed information on homosexuality . . . the copy is under threat . . . wherever they are hiding the document, we will expose it to the public and look at these matters,” he assured.

He, therefore, pleaded with Ghanaians to be patient and not worry about the implementation of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) as the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Right and Family Values are engaging stakeholders like the Presidency, Parliament and the Judiciary in respect of the matter.

He further assured Ghanaians the strength of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Right and Family Values to fight the LGBT movement in the country as the Coalition comprises of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, Catholic Bishops Conference, Christian Council of Ghana, Ghana Baptist Convention, Association of Charismatic Churches, Scripture Union and Muslim Federation; making about 98 percent of the population.
