Northern Youth For Peace Director To Contest NPP Yendi Seat

The Executive Director of the Northern Youth for Peace and Development (NYUPED), a non-governmental organisation, Mr Prince Hardi Adams, has declared his intention to contest the upcoming Yendi parliamentary primary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Currently, the seat is being occupied by Mr Tijani Habibu Mohammad of the NPP.

Mr Adams, who is aspiring to lead the NPP in the 2020 parliamentary elections for the party, sees himself as capable of helping improve the well-being of the people and also alleviate the plight of the youth in the constituency.

In Mr Adams’ view, his broad knowledge in the business world has positioned him adequately to lead the people of the Yendi Constituency to attain their development goals.

Why joining the race?

In a statement issued to the Daily Graphic, Mr Adams, who is a businessman and Chairman of Prinhady Group of Companies, said his desire to go into politics “is fuelled by his passion for change, coupled with the performance of President Nana Akufo-Addo through his people-centred policies”.

Per the statement, he believes, winning the Yendi seat will aid him to support the President towards maintaining permanent peace in Yendi, particularly Dagbon.

According to Mr Adams, his charity organisation had over the years championed the fight against the youth, in the three northern regions migrating to the south in search of ‘greener pastures’

In the statement, he said NYUPED in the past used his charity organisation to convince and empower some youth to stay at home and not to move to other regions.

He said most of them were later trained and equipped with skills in various sectors, particularly agriculture and transport.

Mr Adams further in his statement observed that his charity organisation had also attended to the poor and had provided early childhood education scholarship to needy children in the communities in the Northern Region.

He, therefore, appealed to the delegates of the NPP to elect him as the parliamentary candidate of the NPP in Yendi.

Prince Hardi Adams is the Founder and Board Chairman of Prinhadv Group of Companies, which includes Prinhad Hotel at Lapaz, and is a well-known figure in the Yendi Constituency.
