"We're Walking A Tightrope" - Kweku Baako On Termination of PDS Deal

The Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Kweku Baako Jnr has asked the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to join other stakeholders in reaching a consensus on the way forward as far as the termination of the PDS deal is concerned.

"The implication is not a joke; let’s not underestimate what Ghana is going through in relation to this particular issue. We are walking a tightrope . . . we can do our politics; propaganda and counter propaganda . . . but I still believe we have people in this country in all the political parties and other stakeholders who could have aggregated to come to the centre and say; this is what we are going to do; since termination is inevitable; this is the way forward,"  he said.

Kweku Baako who was contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show 'kokrokoo' said even though Ghana has lost $190 million following the termination of the deal, it might have some impact at least in the immediate terms.

"If you have a national consensus as to how to deal with it, it is better than the heat that brings no light which we are experiencing . . . you can hear the NDC at press conferences using all sorts of adjectives; I am sure if the NPP were in opposition, they would have done the same," he pointed.

National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi reacting to Kweku Baako's call for a national consensus on the same platform said "it is too late".
