British High Commission Pays Courtesy Call On Director Of NADMO

The British High Commission met with the Director General of National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Hon. Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh to deliberate on the welfare of Ghanaians in the UK-Ireland Detention Camps on 24th October, 2019.

The meeting looked at Consideration of putting up a comprehensive Reception Centre for Ghanaian returnees.

It was climaxed with an MOU where both institutions agreed to work together as well as support NADMO in addressing the issues of Ghanaian immigrants.

Hon. Agyemang-Prempeh expressed to the British delegation that even though these persons under discussion are considered as illegal immigrants they must be treated well as human beings and their fundamental human rights should be protected.

Also at the meeting deliberations on sending a team to the UK to witness the End-to-End process, a retention camp where Ghanaian immigrants are detained before they are deported to examine if they have been treated well before their deportation took place.

The British delegation was led by Mr. Eric Wall, Head, Migration Manager for West Africa and Mr. Henry Afrifa, head, Projects & Returns officer for Ghana at the British High Commission-Ghana.
