Floods: Kwesi Pratt Blames Leadership

“Our leaders have disappointed us . . . as for the citizens they don’t have any authority. We need a building code that will take into account the fact that we live in the tropics and not the Sahara desert,” Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr said about the recent floods across the country.

Mr Pratt was reacting to the issue of flooding in the country on Peace FM's morning show 'kokrokoo'.

Heavy downpour across the country on Monday has resulted in floods leaving many wondering what is going to be done for future rains.

A section of the Accra to Tema motorway was flooded making movement difficult for many motorists.

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMET) has said that this year’s rains in October are slightly above normal and that heavier rains should be expected.

Areas that are anticipated to be affected by rains are the coastal belt and forest regions but not much is expected to occur in the dry northern regions.
