Spiders Wife Owns Beauty Shop

Information available to Daily Guide indicates that Shakira Osman, wife of John Kofi Fiagbedzi aka Spider, the notorious armed robber who was gunned down by the police in the early hours of Monday, would soon be arraigned for harbouring a criminal and deceit of public officer. The lady was said to have been set up by her husband via a beauty shop with goods worth over 150million. Whereas the love birds were in touch with each other, the lady told the police that she could not remember the last time she had contact with the armed robber who was killed while raiding the house of Ghanas High Commissioner to Nigeria. The robbers ransacked the house and stripped their victims of foreign currencies and jewelry belonging to the wife of the High Commissioner, who is a kingpin of the NDC. Shakira, who was arrested with the couples new-born baby boy for interrogations by the police on Monday March 1, 2010, was granted bail the same day. According to a police source, 25-year-old Shakira had earlier denied ever knowing Spiders whereabouts nor hearing from him when she was invited on several occasions by the police somewhere last year to help in smoking out her husband. However, when the police retrieved Spiders mobile phone after the shoot-out that led to his death, Shakiras new photographs, together with that of their new-born baby, were seen on the phone, indicating the woman had misled the police. Furthermore, the police have in their possession seized goods including cosmetics valued at about GH15,000 from Shakiras shop, confirming reports that Spider financed the setting up of the said shop. Shakira confessed that Spider indeed sent her money with which she set up the shop. As to whether or not the goods would be returned to Shakira would be determined by court. Meanwhile, the deputy Regional Commander, ACP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has confirmed that a reward of GH4000 would be given to anyone who would help the police with information leading to the arrest of Mathias Kwesi Tsegah, an accomplice of Spider, also considered as very dangerous. Mathias is also suspected to be Spiders accomplice in the robbery of the Ghanaian top diplomat at his North Legon resident, in which operation Spider lost his life. Though injured, Mathias managed to escape. Mathias is believed to be the one, who at gun-point, helped Spider to escape at the Police Hospital when he was recuperating after a surgical operation in 2006. The deputy Regional Commander commended the public for their support to the police, in helping to curb armed robbery in the country and further appealed to the public to help fish out Mathias to face the law. We also appeal to hospitals and clinics to notify the police if any person approaches them with gun wounds for treatment. Until his death on Monday, Spider was the ringleader of a group of notorious armed robbers that operated on various Accra, Kumasi and Volta region highways and were usually involved in daylight and bank robberies. He was said to be part of the group that robbed a Ghanaian woman from the United Stated of an amount of $64000, with his accomplices being Aaron (now in police custody) and Mathias. In 2008, he robbed a foreigner of a Pathfinder cross-country vehicle and other valuables whilst in early 2009, he was said to have also robbed a forex bureau of a huge amount of money near the St Johns Senior High School in Accra. Furthermore, he was believed to have been part of a car-snatching syndicate and introduced a number of people to robbery. During the 2009 Yam festival in Ho, Spider was said to have violently robbed and shot a driver in the leg and snatched his RAV 4 vehicle. But his accomplices and some clearing agents were arrested when they attempted to sell the vehicle. He was also on record as having threatened the Police Service in a telephone call after his escape from the Police Hospital in 2006, saying that he could only be rearrested after he had killed not less than ten of its personnel.
