Genius Bawumia Is NDC’s Nightmare – NPP Deputy Communications Director

The Deputy Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mame Yaa Aboagye says Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is a nightmare to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

To her, the voice and accurate information by Dr. Bawumia on national issues makes the opposition party shiver.

She stressed that the Vice President is a thorn in the flesh of NDC members. “The Vice President was NDC’s nightmare in office and out of office due to his sound economic deliveries”, she said.

Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, addressed the citizens at a Town hall meeting in Kumasi under the theme; "Demonstrating Fulfillment Of Our Promises".

He touched on major feats that the government has achieved since its inception and among other things noted that Ghana's GDP growth over three years has made the nation one of the fastest economies in the world.

According to the Vice President, about 78% of the current government's manifesto has been fulfilled.

“Notwithstanding the difficult economy we inherited, we had to get on with it and start to fix the problems. We were cognizant of our many promises. In fact, at the direction of President Akufo-Addo, we put together a dashboard of manifesto promises immediately after we were declared winners of the 2016 election, and before we were sworn into office. We have been using this dashboard to track our manifesto promises since”, the Vice President stated.

Mame Yaa Aboagye also lauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his splendid performance in the first term of his administration.

“NPP’s first term has been nothing but phenomenal since 1992. As indicated by the Vice President,  Ghana’s trade balance recorded a surplus in 2017, 2018, and 2019, free WiFi (Internet) service in all tertiary and secondary schools across the country to aid teaching and learning, introduction of digitization (National ID system and Tax Identification Number) to aid fight corruption and shore up revenue for the government at the same time and the flagship Free SHS programme, all under NPP’s first term...Indeed, the data speaks for itself,” she said.

She added “Dr. Bawumia is blessing and a great asset to this country; four more for Nana to do more for you”.
