Akufo-Addo Files Nomination And Names Bawumia As Running Mate
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Thursday [February 20, 2020] filed his nomination, seeking re-election on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2020 presidential election.
Following that, the President also formally named Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as his running mate.BThe Director of Research at the Presidency, Mr Victor Newman on January 27, 2020, picked the nomination form on behalf of President Akufo-Addo.
Only President Akufo-Addo had picked and filed his nomination form to contest the presidential primary of the NPP as of the time the party closed picking and filing of nomination on Thursday, February 20, 2020.
