GETFund Saga: Auditor-General's Report Will Turn Ghana Upside Down If… - MP For Ayensuano

Member of Parliament [MP] for Ayensuano Constituency in the Eastern Region, Hon Samuel Aryeh-Paye, believes should the trend allow to continue as it is, audit reports from the office of the Auditor General, Daniel Yao Domelevo will turn Ghana upside down.

To him, Domelevo has failed in his duty per the position he occupies since he has no mandate to publish on its official website matters concerning another office until it has gone through the necessary procedures.

…The necessary procedure is for the document to come first to Parliament, go through Public Accounts Committee before a public notice is made if need be. There have been times that the Auditor General has called on persons for interrogation on an amount paid in their names that the office needs clarification on, it is another option that the auditor general could have used to seek clearer meaning on the names of persons who benefitted from the GETFund so why the rush to publish names on its official network without cross-checking?” he quizzed.

Speaking on Adom fm’s "Mpensenpensenmu" political discussion programme, the NPP MP stressed the Auditor General is at fault for not inviting persons involved in the GETFund Scholarship saga which it subsequently posted on its website.

.…Domelevo cannot justify himself as not having caused any harm concerning how he handled the GETFund Scholarship document because the document was submitted to him by his officers who report directly to him, there are many channels he could have made due diligence... the country could turn upside down if care is not taken and he is allowed to engage in such procedure,” he added.
