63rd Indece Absence: Pius Hadzide Refutes Claims There Were Plans To Hoot At Ex-Prez Mahama

According to the former MCE for Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Assembly, former President John Dramani Mahama failed to show up at the the 63rd Independence Day Anniversary celebration due to the intelligent report the NDC leadership in the Ashanti Region picked that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) had planned to hoot at him on his arrival.

Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide has refuted those claims.

Responding to the allegation raised by the former Municipal Chief Executive on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the Deputy Minister on Monday, March 9, 2020 said there was no such plan by the Planning Committee to verbally attack former President John Dramani Mahama.

"I was part of the Organizing Committee and I didn’t hear anything of that sort . . if that was to happen, it would have been a disgrace to the entire nation,” he argued.

To him, it was part of the key factors that the Organizing Committee ensured to make the celebration go down without partisan coloration as it was a national independent celebration devoid of petty politics as speculated by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Still defusing the claims of the former Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Assembly MCE, Pius Enam Hadzide indicated that the Organizing Committee ensured that the Kumasi Sports Stadium was clad in national colors, in spite of the fact that the Ashanti Region is the stronghold of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“We ensured that the fact that the Ashanti Region is our stronghold people did not dress in party colours," he added.

He added that what Yamoah Ponkoh alleges was just a deception by someone as it can never be true.
