Ghana Embassy In U.S. To Launch Fundraising Campaign To Support Fight Against Coronavirus
Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States Of America (USA), Baffour Adjei Bawuah, has announced that his outfit will set up a fundraising campaign to support government’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pandemic has affected the economy of various countries including Ghana and the fund is to offer assistance to Ghanaians who will be affected by it.
“The Embassy will launch a fundraising campaign, in close collaboration with US-based Ghanaian Churches and associations to support the fight against COVID-19 in Ghana,” the press release read.

Fellow Ghanaians,
I pray that this message finds you, your families and loved ones well and in good spirits during these unprecedented times.
In just a few weeks, our lives have changed with so many of us currently on lockdown to help minimize the spread of the coronavirus which is now a global pandemic.
This morning, parts of Ghana also went under lockdown on orders of the President of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to slow down the spread of the virus and ultimately save lives.
As Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, my top priority in this crisis is to ensure we are in the position to offer appropriate support to Ghanaians in need. As a key measure, my staff and I are closely monitoring the situation in the United States.
In the next few days, the Embassy will launch a fundraising campaign, in close collaboration with US-based Ghanaian Churches and Associations to support the fight against COVID-19 in Ghana. Details of how you can participate will be announced soon.
I believe your immediate goal should be the well-being of yourself, and that of your children, your families and all loved ones. This can be achieved by closely adhering to healthcare guidelines and other safety measures that have been laid down by your various local, county and state governments.
Whilst we are at home in self-isolation and in strict adherence of laid down guidelines, there are those who's jobs put them at the frontline in the fight against the virus.
I stand in your stead to say a big thank you to all healthcare and essential services workers who are sacrificing their lives on a daily basis so that we are all safe and well.
And to Ghanaian Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Public Health Workers and all essential workers, accept my warmest gratitude for your services in your respective communities.
The world finds itself in difficult times, but I believe we shall prevail.
