Akufo-Addo's New Ultra Modern Hospitals Will Bring Healthcare To Everyone - NPP Communicator

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, Dr. Ezekiel Agyekum-Obeng, has stated categorically that President Akufo-Addo's planned ninety-four hospital projects cannot in any way be compared to that of former President Mahama's CHPS compounds.

"The ninety-four planned hospitals to be built in a year will be an extra-ordinary modern facility that will bring healthcare at the doorstep of every citizen," he said.

The medical practitioner emphasized that "even though there is no budgetary allocation now for the planned project, provisions are being made to fulfill the promise even if we have to borrow money because it is a necessary course that will serve a unique purpose".

Dr. Agyekum-Obeng further explained on UTV's 'Adekye Nsroma' show that President Akufo-Addo deserves to be praised per his steps taken to address the loopholes in our health sector.

Government, will this year, begin the construction of 88 Hospitals in districts without such facilities, according to President Akufo-Addo.

Delivering his eighth televised address to the nation on the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus in the country on Sunday, April 26, 2020, the President said: "There are eighty-eight (88) districts in our country without district hospitals; we have six (6) new regions without regional hospitals; we do not have 5 infectious disease control centres dotted across the country, and we do not have enough testing and isolation centres for diseases like COVD-19. We must do something urgently about this. That is why Government has decided to undertake a major investment in our healthcare infrastructure, the largest in our history. We will, this year, begin constructing eighty-eight (88) hospitals in the districts without hospitals."
