Girls Want To Look Like Prince Williams' Sister-In--Law

THE glowing example of the Middleton sisters at the Royal Wedding have caused a sales spike of fake tan with British women aiming to look just as brown during the wedding season. Bronzing products flew off the shelves on April 29 with sales up 219 per cent compared to the same day last year, according to High Street giant Debenhams. The following day was almost as successful as shoppers, inspired by the wedding highlights on TV, boosted sales by 200 per cent. And while neither the Royal Family nor the Middletons have confirmed whether the tan was real or came from a bottle, Debenhams beauty director Sara Stern said that "professionally applied artificial self-tan" was the "most likely solution." She said the appearance of the Middletons - with mum Carole and son James also sporting a healthy glow - has also seen the department store "inundated" with calls on how to achieve the family's "subtle" glow. Sara hailed the Middleton sisters as new beauty icons, saying: "It's impossible to underestimate the impact that Kate and Pippa will have on the beauty industry. "Already streams of wannabe princesses have been flooding into our stores looking to achieve their healthy, groomed look. "In particular, Kate's more subtle shade of tan is perfect for big occasions such as weddings. "A light tan to compliment your skin tone is much more appropriate than the deeper, more noticeable shades used on a night out." Offering advice on how to achieve the Middleton look, Sara said skin preparation was vital to avoid "tell-tale tide marks". She added: "Exfoliate and moisturise well in advance and apply slowly and steadily. "Choose a shade that is not too distance from your skintone and use different products for face and body." "Take inspiration from the new Duchess of Cambridge and embrace bronzing powders and highlighters to create definition and enhancement - a look that will dazzle from Westminster Abbey to Gretna Green."
