Ghana legend Abedi Pele has revealed how he was adored during his time in School.

The former Black Stars captain goes down as one of Africa’s greatest ever players to have emerged from the continent.

Pele, 55, made his national team debut at the age of 16 which made him the youngest player to have ever played for the Black Stars.

He however narrates how he was “worshiped” by his colleagues and master in school because of the talent he exerted.

“The man we called B.A Fusieni, and this man was just an amazing person, he took care of me and as a form one student I had a cubicle. Cubicles were given to prefects in the school, sports prefects, entertainment prefects and all that, but I had my own cubicle just to be close so when he was going to training he can see me,” he revealed on GTV Sports plus.

“He (B.A Fusieni) was the particular person who came to the Dome village to meet my father and my mother to succumb to them and tell them he will take care of me.

The Maestro also revealed how he personally took a colleague to school without the consents of the headmaster.

“Yes I had a scholarship to move to Greenhill and I remember a couple of players, I had Abu Imoro who was a great player too. We played colts together and we grew up to RTU.

“Very close friend, when I went to school in Tamale I also helped him to also come.”

“I did (Take Abu Imoro to school without the consents of the headmaster of the school), I wanted him to be great and do what he love best.”

The three-time African Footballer of the year award winner led the Black Stars team as captain from 1991 to 1998.
