STATEMENT: Court Case Against Disqualification Of Eric Ofori Agarko

I have followed the best democratic tradition of our party to resolving the unfair and baseless grounds of my disqualification from participating in the selection of a candidate for the Atiwa East Constituency.

I filed suit number GJ/1070/2020 at the Accra High Court and an application seeking an “Order of Interlocutory Injunction to restrain Defendants, their servants, agents, privies or assigns or howsoever designated from proceeding with or in any way whatsoever acclaiming, affirming, endorsing or conducting, supervising or dealing with or participating in any processes touching and concerning further activities or dealings towards facilitating 2nd Defendant’s selection as 1st Defendant’s Parliamentary Candidate for Atiwa East Constituency for participation in the General Elections in December 2020 pending the determination of the suit,…and for further Order to 2nd Defendant not to hold herself out as 1st Defendant’s Parliamentary Candidate for Atiwa East."

The Party and EC have both been duly served all processes from the court. It is my hope that all are fully aware of the consequences of acting otherwise or doing anything before the court date of 26th June, 2020.

This legal action was the last resort and only avenue to ventilate my grievances about the wrongful treatment and disqualification without justification. I intend to pursue this case to the end in the hope primaries will be organized in the final analysis.

I pray for a peaceful resolution to pave the way for fair contest giving delegates and the constituents the right of choice as expected in a democratic process.

I will urge all supporters to stay calm and law-abiding.

Signed

Eric Ofori Agyarko
