The Member of Parliament for Tano South, Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere, has successfully been acclaimed by delegates of the constituency. The exercise took place on Saturday, June 20, 2020.

The Deputy Ahafo Regional Minister procured this feat as a result of going unopposed in the race after he was successfully vetted by the party’s vetting committee.

The constituency consists of 123 polling stations which give 615 delegates, 39 Electoral Area Coordinators, 17 Constituency Executives and 10 Council of Elders and Patrons. In all, 681 delegates took part in the acclamation exercise.

In line with the party’s decision to comply with the safety protocols announced by the Ghana Health Service and to also ensure that the social distancing directive is strictly adhered to, the constituency was divided into three zones.

All delegates within the Derma catchment area converged at Derma with social distancing guidelines fully in place for the exercise. Techimantia and Bechem were the locations for those in the Techimantia and Bechem zones respectively.

Hon. Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere visited all the three zones for the exercise to take place. It was peaceful as no incident of violence or negative event happened in any of the zones. The exercise ended at 1 o’clock in the afternoon.
