Ejisu Municipal Assembly Supports Churches

The Ejisu Municipal Assembly has donated quantities of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to churches in the Municipality to support the fight against the spread of the coronavirus among their congregations.

The items included; hundreds of nose masks, hand sanitizers, tissue papers and waste bins.
Madam Beatrice Serwaa Derkyi, Municipal Chief Executive, who made the presentation to the leaders of the churches at Ejisu, said the gesture was to assist the churches to protect their congregation from getting infected with the COVID 19 virus.

She said the fight against the spread of the disease was a collaborative effort by all individuals and institutions in the country.

Madam Serwaa Derkyi, commended church leaders in the municipality for showing greater commitment to the fight against the spread of the virus by ensuring that their congregation observed all the preventive protocols outlined by the ministry of health in fighting the disease.

She encouraged the church leaders to intensify education among their members on the need to observe the COVID 19 protocols, particularly the use of the face masks and the social distancing.

Reverend Father Stephen Asante Barko, Parish Priest of St. Anthony Catholic Parish at Ejisu, commended the assembly for showing support to the churches and gave the assurance that the leaders of the churches would ensure that members used the items at all time to avoid catching and spreading the virus.
