Senior Minister And Akwesi Acquah Tour Registration Centres In Akim Oda Constituency

The Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Mafo and the Parliamentary Candidate of NPP in Akim Oda Constituency, Alexander Akwasi Acquah toured Registration Centres in Akim Oda after completing their Voter Registration at the Electoral Commission District office in the Constituency.

They were accompanied by Birim Central Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Victoria Adu, and Party Executives in the Constituency. 

The purpose of their tour was to keep track of the Voter Registration Exercise been undertaken by the Electoral Commission, a fair idea of the registration process, adherence of the people to COVID-19 safety protocols, and general attendance.

Some of the centres they visited in Akim Oda Constituency were ST Luke Catholic school registration centre which house three polling stations of the PWD Camp electoral area, Four (4) polling stations at Towobotom Electoral Area and St Francis Senior High Technical School polling station.

At St Francis Senior High Technical School, the Senior Minister and the team met authorities of the school to access the school's response to the fight against the Covid-19 and adherence to the safety protocols. 

The Headmaster thanked the Government and the minister and added that St Francis Senior High Technical School has received all PPEs from the District Education office. He expressed his profound gratitude to the Hon Municipal Chief Executive and the Municipal Director of Education for the assistance they have rendered the school and pleaded for more facilities to house students since their population more than 2000.  

The Senior Minister was pleased about the co-operation of the Municipal Assembly with the Electoral Commission to enable the people to have the confidence to register. 

He also praised the security personnel at the centers for ensuring peace and order.

Electoral Commission Phase 4 Registration entered Day 5 at 17 polling stations in Five (5) Electoral Areas of Akim Oda Constituency expected to end tomorrow July 24th, 2020.
