Atik Finds Some Of Mahama’s Policies As Awkward: Is This Really A Policy Option?
Convener of Civil Society Organisation, the Mass Action Committee (MAC), and embattled General Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC), Atik Mohammed has described as 'awkward' some policies announced by John Mahama.
At the outdooring of his running mate, Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) promised to pay customers of all collapsed financial institutions their locked up funds if given the nod on December 7, 2020.
“I weep for the many who have lost their jobs, the many who have lost their businesses, the many who have lost their livelihood among others. I pledge on behalf of the NDC that we shall pay within one year all who have funds locked up with the collapsed financial institutions. Within one year. I promise,” he said.
"Is this really a policy option?" Atik Mohammed asked while contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM’s morning show 'Kokrokoo'.
"I find some of those policies a bit awkward," he added and wondered why the taxpayers' money will be used to pay customers who were not diligent enough and deposited their monies with an unlicensed institution.
