"Okere Has A Fair Share Of National Development" - Chief

Nana Saforo Okoampah, Chief of Akuapem Apirede, says Okere has enjoyed a fair share of national development under the New Patriotic Party government.

He said "Okere has seen massive development in the road network in addition to the creation of Okere District and we are forever grateful to you"

Nana Okoampah made these remarks at a grand Durbar organized in honour of President Akufo-Addo after he commissioned the 20.5 km Tinkon-Amanfro road as part of his three day visit to the Eastern Region.

The Chief disclosed that some of the town roads in Okere had not seen any rehabilitation since the Busia regime mentioning specifically Apirede town roads.

He added that Okere District was created two years ago, yet construction of a district assembly office was far advanced and thanked the President for keeping faith with the people of Okere.

On behalf of the Chiefs and people of Okere he presented a cow as a token of appreciation to the President.

The President in response thanked the Okere people for the show of support for his governments and assured that he will fulfil all the promises made to the people of Ghana.

The President later inspected the construction of the Okere District Assembly office which started some months ago.

The President started the three day visit to the Region with a voter card registration at Kyebi and followed the next day with a visit to New Juaben South, Akropong and Okere Districts.
