J J Rawlings Exposed...Tells The Lie Of His Lifetime

Supporters of Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, who accompanied him to the Ridge residence of the former President, Jerry John Rawlings, on a visit on Wednesday this week, denied an assertion by the ex-president that the campaign tee-shirts they wear are bought by them (the supporters themselves),... ...unlike those of other politicians that are given free, the Enquirer newspaper can say. In his bid to espouse his often said principle of truth, probity and accountability, he appeared to have told the lie of his lifetime when he claimed that the campaign tee-shirts which are worn by supporters of his wife are often bought by the supporters themselves. Mr. Rawlings during the visit by the aspirant in the National Democratic Congress 2012 presidential ticket told the gathering that he believes that the supporters of Dr. Spio-Garbrah bought and paid for their tee-shirts. Most of the people or all the people who were wearing Naanas tee-shirts paid for themand I believe all of you here who are wearing those tee-shirts paid for the tee-shirts you are wearing, the Flt. Lt. said. But I know that other candidates had to give money to other people to wear their tee-shirts, he claimed, adding that people are hungry so they will take those money to wear the tee-shirts. This assertion drew thunderous applause from Dr. Spio-Garbrahs supporters, who accompanied him to see his master to inform him of what he said is the customary thing to do in a Ghanaian society by going to inform your leader of an ambition. Soon after the formal close of the programme, which took place at the Ridge residence of the former President J.J. Rawlings, some of the supporters, who were spotted adorned in the tee-shirts of Dr. Spio-Garbrah, denied making any attempt to make payment for the tee-shirts they were wearing. The Enquirer interacted with some of the supporters numbering about 15 who seem not to understand what the former President could have meant by saying they bought the tee-shirts they were wearing. How much did you buy your tee-shirts? the paper asked a supporter. Oh no I was given, the supporter said. The paper then caught up with a smiling lady and engaged her in conversation. Hello sweetie, how much did your nice tee-shirt cost you? I did not buy, my father brought it home. Who is your father? The paper asked. One of Spios people, she answered (name withheld). Another well-built individual, who was spotted in the Spio tee-shirt, when asked by the paper, denied buying the tee-shirt. Speaking in pidgin, I asked a young man this question. Master, how much you buy your tee-shirt? No, I no buy am, them share give we, he replied. Prior to his assertion, ex-President Rawlings had said that the crowd that followed President Mills to pick up his nomination forms on May 4, this year, did not have energy. Ladies and gentlemen, anybody who was very observant and watched the TV the other time saw the little energy that was in the crowd, he said. As many as they were bussed they did not make any impact. Just a few loitering about, he said, demonstrating to the crowd that the hands which waved handkerchiefs did it without energy. Naana came here and the crowd was energizedthe fighting spirit. Spio comes here with an energized spirit!!!...this is the fighting spirit, he said.
