8.8 Million Movement Launches ‘Good Woman, Vote!’

The 8.8 Million Movement (8.8MM), a pro-NPP Strategic Group, has officially launched a concept known as ‘Good Woman, Vote!’.

The goal of the 8.8MM is to rally women in Ghana to vote massively and to show support for President Akufo-Addo’s bid for a second term.

The female constituency has become more critical in this election.

The electoral statistics indicate that over 600,000 women more than men have registered to vote.

The Movement acknowledges that with more available women votes to be tapped by the leading Presidential candidates, President Akufo-Addo and the NPP are best placed to earn those votes given their superior record and many social policies that have had a direct impact on the lives of women in particular.

The Movement is geared towards amplifying the NPP’s core message using dedicated communication channels and uniting women of varied backgrounds, occupation and  beliefs towards the issues that are critical to them, the wellbeing of their futures, their families, and their country while positioning President Akufo-Addo as the obvious choice for a better life in this election.

The “Good Woman, Vote” initiative would tell the success stories of the last four years and the uplifting impact it has had on women in a way that has not been done in past elections.

The campaign is largely targeted at women voters and would use a series of digital and innovative platforms to set the records straight on the cardinal gender-related issues in this election. Already, 8.8MM has a strong social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube with the handle @goodwomanvote.

“The women vote is a powerful section of our political base”,  the founder of 8.8MM, Mrs. Akosua Manu said.

She further noted that “women have been enthusiastically registering to make their voice heard, which is exciting. Kozie is of the firm belief that progress is a journey, and Ghana has made some difficult decisions that have begun to pay off for our present, and even better, for our future. Women should be excited about what’s coming next”, hence the Good, Woman, Vote! initiative.
