Ayawaso West Wuogon MP To Fix Dome Pillar Two Drains After Heavy Rain

Hon. Lydia Alhassan, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, on Thursday, October 15, 2020 has engaged engineers to assess and fix drains at Dome Pillar Two in the Greater Accra Region.

This follows a fresh fatality in the area following flooding from last Saturday’s downpour.

Speaking to the cross section of the media, Hon. Lydia Alhassan says she remains resolute at resolving the perennial challenges confronting the Westland electoral area.

For us, we want to end these perennial floods once and for all for the sake of my constituents...Engineers have been here several times but we want to end this for the last time and they (engineers) too have assured us their readiness to end it within two months and we are hoping they go by their words.''

I have seen floods in Westland but last Saturday's floods were something else, so it has to be done and that is why we are ensuring that we reconstruct the covert'', she added.

She also indicated that she’s not embarking on the drainage exercise to canvass votes from the electorate recounting the roads and bridges she has undertaken in the Westland electoral area since she was elected as an MP.

She appealed to the people to exercise patience as she and the party executives are working tirelessly to resolve the flooding problem.

The engineer also assured the constituents that the covert is replaced, there will be no floods again.
