“For me, if the NPP decides to pay customers of Menzgold, I will stop campaigning for the party," says Abronye DC

Aggrieved customers of the defunct gold dealership company, Menzgold have sworn to vote against Nana Addo in the upcoming elections if their locked-up funds are not paid.

However, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), also known as Abronye DC speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Hello FM said any attempt to pay the aggrieved customers would be 'unlawful'

“It is unlawful for any government to pay customers of the gold firm because it is an individual company and therefore the state cannot release funds to rescue it not even on the day of elections”, he stated.

It may be recalled that Kwadwo Boateng Agyemang, Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at New Juaben North also said he will campaign against President Akufo-Addo if he decides to pay locked up funds.

Speaking as a panelist on Neat FM’s Me Man Nti programme, the constituency chairman said: "I'm telling you; if Nana Addo dares to pay them I will campaign against him"
