Murder At Kanda

THE NIMA District Police Command has retrieved the body of a young lady of about 30 years, who was allegedly murdered and dumped in a drain near the St. Pauls Lutheran School at Kanda in Accra. The deceased has since been identified as Ama Efaah. She hailed from Begro in the Eastern region and was a mother of two. A labourer of the school who was arrested in connection with the murder has since been granted bail for lack of evidence while police investigations continue. The body, according to Nima District Commander, DSP Baneyeh, was found underneath some debris gathered in the drain. A security man at the school discovered the body on the morning of Monday May 16, 2011 and reported it to the Nima police who moved to the scene and discovered the body with a deep cut on her thigh and head. Her mobile phone was found some distance away, together with GH15. The police suspect foul play but have not been able to make any significant progress in the search for the murderer as they are unable to locate the residence of the deceased. The police commander therefore appealed to residents of Kanda and Nima who might have come in contact with her or who know her residence, to volunteer information to the police. Amas family claims she left her two children at Begro and came to Accra some six years ago and has since never visited home until they heard about the unfortunate incident.
