No Authority Overrides The President's - Kabila Rebukes Kpone Chief

CPP Stalwart, James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly called Kabila has rebuked the paramount Chief of Kpone Katamanso for allegedly snubbing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The Chief, Nii Tetteh Otu II, was captured in a video sighted by Peacefmonline.com in what seemed like he walking out of a durbar to commemorate a sod-cutting event for the construction of a district hospital in his community which had the President in attendance.

According to reports, the Chief became angry when he saw the artistic impression of the project which President Nana Akufo-Addo was commissioning.

He is said to have anticipated a one-storey building but was disappointed when the project didn't meet his expectations.

Addressing the issue, Kabila asked Nii Tetteh Otu II why he went to the durbar grounds if he wanted to disregard the President's visit to the area.

He found the Chief's behavior towards the President to be ''disrespectful''.

"Why did the Chief go there, in the first place? If you want to disrespect the President, disregard or not meet him, what was his business picking up his cloth and umbrella to be there?''

He cautioned the Chief to watch his mannerisms when before the First Gentleman of the land.

"Does the Chief know that we're in a Republic that the President overrides every Chief in this country by our constitutional arrangement?" he queried.

"We can't pick and choose which rules to accept and which not to accept when it suits us. Our current arrangement is that we are a Republic and the President is the number 1 gentleman. No authority overrides the President's," he further warned.

James Kwabena Bomfeh made these submissions on Peace FM's Kokrokoo.
