Non-Aligned/Indifferent Voters For Nana Addo 2020 Campaign

The 2020 General election is very crucial in determining the future of our country. It is crucial because it will offer the good people of Ghana the opportunity to have more of the decisive and purposeful leadership that the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufu Addo has provided in the last 46 plus months.  The quality of good leadership is gauged not by what leaders do as business as usual, but how they manage affairs in times of crises and adversity to protect and defend the citizens.  By this standard, the President and the ruling NPP Government stand tall in the management of the coronavirus pandemic.   This cannot be taken for granted.

My objective assessment of policies and programs of successive governments in the 4th Republic shows that for the first time, there is clear and focused leadership in tackling the critical development questions that can shunt Ghana unto a sustainable development pathway.  The Government of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufu Addo and the NPP has shown serious commitment in delivering on Policies and Programs in respect of education, health, agriculture, energy and industrial development that were laid out in the 2016 Manifesto of the party.

I believe every Ghanaian is impressed with the Free Senior High School (FSHS) education policy and the double track system that ensured that no child was left behind. The double track system, which was necessary to deal with the unintended consequences of the Free SHS policy, is a manifestation of innovative and bold leadership.  Education is the surest way to development and prosperity and the presidency of Nana Addo Danquah Akufu Addo has demonstrated seriousness and commitment to this course through policies and programs, which are to be scaled up to the tertiary level in the coming years.  If the Free SHS policy has been successful, one can be assured that the plans for scaling up to the tertiary would equally be successful.

Additionally, no country can experience real development in the global space without industrialization.  The one-district-one-factory program that has been rolled out with several factories coming on-stream needs to be supported and sustained.  As an agrarian economy, our industrialization process can be hastened if it is linked to agricultural development, which would provide the needed raw materials to feed the industries.  Here again, the Planting for Food and Jobs and allied programs are clever moves to guarantee a sustainable journey towards industrializing the country.

Travelling around the country, there is adequate evidence of aggressive development of educational, health, transportation, and allied infrastructure to open up the economy, promote movement of goods and services and expand employment opportunities for the teaming youth of our country.  Improvement in the energy sector which has ended the ‘dumso’ era and preparations towards development of a Petroleum Hub to bring about value addition along the petroleum value chain for Ghana to derive the full benefits of the petrochemical industry are commendable.

It is for these and many more reasons that I consider the 2020 elections to be very crucial in determining the future of our dear country.  It is clear from the political numbers that the outcome of presidential elections is determined by decisions and choices of the people.  The performance of the current government under the able leadership of His Excellency, Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo Addo has been a great start and so far very impressive. He therefore deserves to be retained to continue with the good works and build on them.

This can only happen if all non-aligned/indifferent or otherwise swing voters rally behind his candidature and vote massively for him and the NPP in the coming elections.  I therefore feel obliged to call on all non-aligned and indifferent voters to not just decide to vote but vote for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo in the 2020 elections.
All non-aligned and indifferent voters must rise and make a difference.  We cannot leave the elections to chance.  Ghana deserves more of the good and decisive leadership we have enjoyed so far and your vote would guarantee that.
I accordingly wish to invite all Non-Aligned/indifferent Voters to join the “Nana Addo 2020” campaign, invite others and ensure that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufu Addo is reelected on 7th December 2020.  Our votes will make a difference.
