Restrictions On Movement Of Goods Into West Africa States A Big Challenge For Businesses – B5 Plus CEO

The Chief Executive Officer of B5 Plus Limited, Mukesh Thakwani has bemoaned the restrictions imposed on the movement of goods and services into West African States.

According to the astute businessman, business entities are facing gargantuan challenges due to the restrictions of movement of goods into some neighboring countries.

Speaking in an exclusive interview, the founder and leader of the leading steel manufacturing company in West Africa also expressed his worry on the rejection of the ECOWAS certificate by some African countries which is seriously affecting businesses.

“I want to add that lack of free movement of goods to neighboring countries is seriously affecting businesses”, Mr. Thakwani cried.

“We are not able to move the goods by roads to other neighboring countries like Ivory Coast because they don’t accept the ECOWAS certificate and it is a big challenge and want the government to look into it for us”, he added.

Mr. Thakwani however heralded the Ghanaian government led by President Akufo-Addo for the tailored measures put in place during the lockdown period and believes the devastating coronavirus would be a thing of the past in 2021 to enable businesses to function properly.

Job Creation

He stated that his company has been offering employment to some Ghanaians despite the difficulties imposed on the company by the novel Coronavirus.

According to Mr. Thakwani, B5 Plus Limited has been able to trained and employed twenty Ghanaians into their fabrication department.

He believes the twenty employed Ghanaians have been able to acquire the needed skills to reinforced the highly committed staff at the company to be able to keep producing the best of goods and services to the African market.

On Awards

B5 Plus Limited has been able to annexed about thirteen awards since last month, becoming the most awarded Ghanaian company since October this year.

The company was crowned the best company in partnership for community development at the just ended Sustainability and Social Investment Awards held at the plush Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.

Mr. Mukesh Thakwani was also honoured at the 2020 edition of the National Social Development Awards.

The renowned businessman was awarded for his diligence, dedication, conscientious and social developmental works towards the cause of humanity.
