Election 2020: No Worries! All Security Officers Who Couldn't Vote Will Vote On Dec. 7

Inspector General of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh has assured Police personnel who couldn't vote on Tuesday, December 1 during the special voting that arrangements have been made for them to exercise their voting right.

The 2020 Special Voting occurred on Tuesday, December 1.

The special voters included election officers, security agencies and the media practitioners who would be working on Monday, December 7.

There were however reports of some security personnel not finding their names in the special voters' register, hence not able to vote on the day.

Addressing the issue, the IGP, in an interview with host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" Thursday morning, says the security officers who couldn't vote will have the chance to exercise their franchise on Monday.

He explained that those on duty on the election day will have to cast their ballot earlier so they can execute their duties.

"We shouldn't disenfranchise any person. We've made arrangements for any officer who couldn't vote in the Special Voting and doesn't have his or her name on the Special Voting list can cast their ballot on the 7th (December) . . . I assure all of them that they will have the opportunity to vote," he said.
