Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Irene Serwaah Oppong, Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer, has confirmed the arrest of the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam who reportedly attacked a police officer.

She told Kwami Sefa Kayi in an interview that Ransford Nyarko has been granted bail and asked to report on Wednesday with the group which accompanied him in the assault.



The DCE reportedly led a group to attack General/Corporal, Frank Mensah of Ochiso Police Station near Ajumako for allegedly disrespecting him.

According to the Central Regional Minister, the DCE told him in a conversation that he didn't attack the officer personally but admitted leading the group.

"How do you behave this way? He needs to take responsibility for this act because he led the group so the police allow the law to take its course," he said on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo'.
