Mahama Knows Akufo-Addo Won The 2020 Election - Enam Hadzide

Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide says the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) leader, former President John Dramani Mahama will not be able to go to the Supreme Court with his claim of a flawed 2020 general election.

According to him, the NDC does not have any evidence to support their claim of a rigged election as they know that the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, President Nana Akufo-Addo won the Presidential election.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show about the protest instigated by former President John Dramani Mahama, the Deputy Minister of Information posited that the opposition NDC leaders are looking for a way to manage the anger and disappointment of their supporters.

He asserted that Ghanaians voted massively for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to continue his good works; thus, it is a known fact to former President John Mahama and the NDC.

“They don’t have any evidence because they know it in their hearts that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo won the Presidential election; Ghanaians voted massively for the President. They know that Akufo-Addo won but they are looking for a way to manage the anger and disappointment of their supporters,” he posited.

He, however, reminded the NDC leaders who are hoping to address the Presidential results with demonstrations and series of protests to rather resort to the Supreme Court as it is the only option for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) if they feel cheated.

He debunked the assertion by some leading members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the court is not the last option; insisting that the court is the only option the NDC has to address their issue with the Presidential results.

" . . if the Returning Officer for the Presidential Election declares the results and anybody has any issue with the results we address it in the courtroom; there is no other option for anybody to deal with the issue,” he noted.

He, therefore, concluded that the NDC’s refusal to make known their evidence to prove that the 2020 general election is flawed is an indication that the opposition leaders are only engaging in games as the court will demand the complainant to furnish the defendant with their evidence before the hearing begins.

He was of the view that, “if the NDC has any evidence, by this time they will put it out” and not charge their supporters to go to the street to demonstrate.
