Election 2020: Go To Court - Afenyo-Markin Tells NDC

Efutu Member of Parliament (MP), Alexander Afenyo-Markin has urged the opposition National Democratic Congress and their Presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama to follow up on their request for an independent forensic audit into the 2020 Presidential elections.

Former President John Mahama has rejected the election verdict and refused to recognize the President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to him, the election results are flawed, hence calling for an independent forensic audit.

Responding to Mr. Mahama's request, Afenyo-Markin called on the former President to go to the court for an order for the independent forensic audit and hoped the court would grant his request.

He spurred Mr. Mahama to honour his word because, to him, the audit will prove to Ghanaians the opposition party cheated during the elections.

He strongly believed the audit will greatly favour the President-elect stressing there were some underhand dealings by the NDC at the various polling stations to steal President Nana Akufo-Addo's votes.

"If indeed some people did 'ways and means' agenda, I can state categorically they rather did it against Akufo-Addo but the man has a unique grace, that's why it didn't work . . . They're requesting an audit. I'd like them to go to court for the court to order for an audit of the rejected ballots and Ghana, we all would have known that the 300,000 plus votes that have been rejected; over 90% is Akufo-Addo's," he said on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" programme.
