John Mahama is gallivanting from one place to another showcasing his pretentiously pitiful lamentations.
His claim has been that he has been shortchanged by the Electoral Commission and the ruling New Patriotic Party because his party won more regions in the parliamentary elections.
The EC has done its constitutionally mandated duty by not only declaring the results of the elections but by also gazetting same, bringing a finality to the entire exercise.
Mr. Mahama, a clear loser in the elections, with all cacophonous noises he has been making, has also failed to tell us what his own collated numbers are but keeps on harping on the falsehood that he won the elections.
He has virtually kept his so-called garnered figures to his chest but has sent people’s sons and daughters on the streets to demonstrate.
He now calls for a forensic audit of the results and that in itself beggars belief in that when Mills won in 2008 with a little over 40,000 votes margin, Akufo-Addo never asked for a forensic auditing of the numbers. He, John Mahama, won in 2012 with 320,000 and we only went to court. Akufo-Addo wins with over 500,000 votes margin and he says he has been cheated?
The question is, who should pay for the so-called forensic auditing of the collated results? Who would constitute the team of auditors? Who would put them together? He wants to be satisfied at all cost.
Mahama is incorrigibly and tenaciously obstinate! He knows deep down his heart that he has been soundly beaten by President Akufo-Addo yet he sends his party members out there with their bloodthirsty yells.
Mahama is simply a sore loser. He cannot come to grips with the fact that Ghanaians have rejected him once again. As for his calls for forensics to be done as regards the declared results of the elections, he can continue to splurge cash on demonstrations, it would not be done since it is not part and parcel of our electoral system.
