Ghanaians Want Dr Okoe Boye And Dr Aboagye Dacosta To Play A Major Role In Akuffo Addo’s Next Term

Ghanaians are calling on the President-Elect of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo to consider allowing Dr Bernard Okoe Boye and Dr Aboagye Dacosta to play a crucial role in the country’s healthcare sector.

According to some Ghanaians, these two experts have shown over the past few years that they have what it takes to contribute immensely to Ghana’s healthcare based on their expertise, excellent work ethics, and the pivotal roles they played in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Bernard Okoe Boye who is a Medical doctor and practitioner at the Lekma Government Hospital before his appointment as the Deputy Minister for Health showed commitment in contributing to improving the health of the people in and beyond his constituency by organizing regular health screening for them and helping to improve the infrastructure of health facilities in his area. He also provided the needed support to the Health Ministry in terms of effective media engagement and technical know-how to help fight the pandemic.

Dr Da Coasta Aboagye who is the Director of Health Promotion at the Ghana Health Service (GHS) since his assumption of office has also worked relentlessly to ensure that Ghanaians adopt healthy lifestyles, drumming home the message of the much neglected preventive health practices.  Also, he actively engaged the media and general public, providing constant health education both on and off-camera, allaying the fears of Ghanaians at a time when little was known about the coronavirus. He has been instrumental in the daily activities of government, serving on several technical committees in the COVID-19 fight. With a wealth of experience and skill in the National Health Insurance scheme, healthcare finance, public health and health promotion, Dr Dacosta Aboagye will with no doubt be one of the best fit for the president’s health agenda in Ghana.

On various platforms, these two knowledgeable young gentlemen gave Ghanaians insights into the dynamics of the pandemic and were observed to have the needed requirements and experience that will help the next government of President Akufo-Addo to address the health sector challenges.

According to some Ghanaians, Since the NPP’s 2020 election Manifesto on health provides a shift from the usual curative health services towards preventive and promotive health, the president-elect can harness the expertise of Dr Okoye Boye and Dr Aboaye Dacosta’s at the Ministry of Health and National Health Insurance to support this vision.

In the last few weeks, Kingdom Fm has been monitoring the various media house discussions on president Akuffo Addo’s next ministerial appointments and sighted various comments from Ghanaians on various platforms pleading with the President-elect to consider bringing on board the expertise of Dr Okoe Boye and Dr DaCosta Aboagye when it comes to health sector appointments. A couple of these comments are attached to this story.

There is no doubt that these two gentlemen have won the hearts and minds of Ghanaians in their respective roles in helping fight the COVID-19 pandemic
