I'll Resume My Work On 3rd March - Domelevo

Auditor General Daniel Yao Domelevo says he will not be going back to work until 3rd March 2021.

This was to debunked rumours that he will be resuming work today, 11th January 2021.

"Please ignore the news circulating that I will be resuming work tomorrow, 11 January 2021. The 167 working days leave ends on 2nd March and I will resume work on the 3rd. Thanks 🙏" he posted on his Facebook page.

Background

President Akufo-Addo in June 2020, asked Mr Domelevo to proceed on his accumulated leave. The leave was again extended after he argued in a letter that it was against the labour act.

“no worker is deemed to have accumulated any leave on account of having failed, omitted, neglected or even refused to enjoy their right to annual leave, which the law guarantees for their benefit, not the employer” he said.

However, a letter dated Friday, July 3, 2020, and signed by the Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante in response rather increased the accumulated leave from the initial 123 to 167 working days.
