COVID-19: Adherence To Safety Protocols Picking Up - Dr Nsiah Asare

Advisor to President Akufo-Addo on Health Issues, Dr Anthony Nsiah Asare has disclosed that the observation of the government and the medical team in charge of the COVID-19 in the country is that the adherence to the safety protocols is generally picking up a bit.

According to him, after the address by President Akufo-Addo on the update of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, Ghanaians have started raising the bar in terms of adherence to the safety protocols which was downplayed with some months ago.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Dr Nsiah Asare mentioned that Ghanaians now move out with their nose masks unlike some months ago where everyone did not see the need to continue to wear them.

He again mentioned that after the address by President Akufo-Addo, workers of various companies have intensified the wearing of their nose masks in order not to fall prey to the COVID-19 pandemic and its new variants which is claiming many lives including young people.

"Safety protocol-wise, I think it is a bit good. What the President said, I have seen that the number of people who wear masks have increased and those who are supposed to wear masks at their workplaces have also increased”.

“I am sure that people will continue to comply with all the measures we have put in place because it will be disastrous for anyone not to comply with the safety protocols,” he said.

He stressed that the treatment of COVID-19 comes with post-COVID-19 complications as some of the people who have been treated report back with some deformities and other health complications.
