VIDEO: Funny Face Was Resisting Arrest, So We Applied 'Minimum Force' - Police Denies Assault

The Central Regional Police Command has narrated what led to the arrest of Comedian Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face.

Funny Face was arrested at Kasoa and he claims he was brutally assaulted by the Police personnel who apprehended him.

He has since been raining insults on the Ghana Police Service.

In some of his social media rants, the comedian used very unprintable words to describe the men and women in the Police Force.

Detailing accounts on Funny Face's arrest, the Central Regional Police PRO, DSP Irene Oppong says the comedian was caught following a fierce battle between him and a bar attendant.

She disclosed that the Police acted after they heard the comedian had gone to a drinking spot around Kasoa and fired gunshots.

DSP Irene Oppong narrated that Funny Face was said to have entered into a brawl with the bar attendant who retaliated by giving him some mighty slaps, for which the comedian went home and returned to the bar with a gun to fire shots there.

On Funny Face's claims of Police brutality, she revealed he was resisting arrest and so the Police applied ''minimum force'' to bring him to order.

She told Akwasi Aboagye in an interview on Peace FM's ''Entertainment Review'' that the Police arrested Funny Face and the bar attendant, charging the comedian for discharging firearms and the latter for assault.

Both gentlemen, according to her, have been granted bail but are under investigation.
